Over the three days together with the butteri we will ride horses and Maremma cows; we will live and eat with them in their everyday life.

Saturday evening, after the accommodation in the rooms, we meet for the due presentations, an aperitif together, a chat and the assignment of the horses.
Sunday we spend the whole day on horseback, with a picnic, and return to Cornacchino. This first day is very important, it is a matter of "creating the group", of checking the combinations between the rider and the horse, explaining our travel equipment, our way and our rules of behavior in traveling on horseback.
In the 5 days of travel, the day normally involves a long ride in the morning and a shorter in the afternoon, for a total of five or six hours a day.

Our Horses:

All the horses are trained in Western riding and particularly suitable for trails.

Guide:

During the 4 days with the butteri the group will be lead by our guide and a buttero.

Meals:

For lunch we enjoy a sumptuous picnic, breakfast and dinner are served in the country houses.

Overnights in country houses:

The country houses are carefully chosen by us taking into consideration their typicality, comfort, cuisine and stables for the horses and equipment.

Overnights in tents:

We spend the night in Cornacchino, sunday, monday, tuesday, and wednesday, we camp in Maremma (there is a shower and toilet), thursday we stay in a country house near the Mezzano Lake and friday evening we return to Cornacchino for dinner and overnight.

Transfer:

By minibus we carries the luggage. The bus may be used for some of the transfers

Riding gear:

Your riding gear should be comfortable and most importantly, should not be brand new (especially footwear), since new gear often holds unpleasant surprises. The footwear should be comfortable not only for riding, but also for walking, with a hard sole that permits a good contact between foot and stirrup. Footwear with a slick sole and very tight clothing should be avoided. The trousers should be comfortable and robust. You may also need a raincoat , a hat for protection, a portable light, a small knife, swimwear, and a sleeping bag; you should bring along a light jumper for the evening. The belongings together should not be too bulky since there is limited space on the transport vehicle and in the saddlebags. Please avoid suitcases with a hard surface.
Your guide can provide basic medication and will take along a first-aid kit on the trek. Any health conditions that require special medication should be brought to the attention of the guide before departure on the trek. Allergy sufferers should bring their own medicines, as those who suffer allergies from common medications.

Note:

The program may be modified at any time due to prevailing weather conditions or for technical reasons.
